About Audio Mastering

+

Advanced Ears and Advanced Tools

Mastering services are provided exclusively by composer and sound designer Christopher Ariza. With over fifteen years of experience with recording and audio technology, all projects are completed to meet both the highest artistic and technical standards, as well as the particular needs of the client. Only professional, high-quality digital audio production tools are used, including processors from Sony/Oxford (Sonnox), TC Electronic (makers of the Finalizer), and others. High technical standards are provided with the use of precise studio reference monitors and dynamic and spectral analysis tools.

Convenient and Prompt Service

Located in New York City and Baltimore, services can be provided to clients locally and around the world via the internet and/or mail. Clients need only provide an uncompressed 16 or 24 bit (preferred) master mix. (Clients may upload source audio to flexatone.net FTP, post their source audio on their own on-line storage, or use physical mail/post services.) Within approximately two days of receipt (during normal work weeks) a mastered version (as an ultra high-quality 256 kbs watermarked MP3) will be posted for client review.

After receiving comments (and payment), revisions will be completed within approximately 24 hours and again posted for client review. After final acceptance, the client is provided with an uncompressed 16 or 24 bit master (as either Red Book CD Digital Audio (IEC 908), CD-ROM, DVD or other media as needed) and ultra high-quality MP3s (at 128 and 256 kbs). Red Book CD masters, if desired, may contain UPC and ISRC codes, CD-TEXT, and track index points and crossfades.

Services Not Included

Flexatone HFP specializes in sound; CD manufacturing and design services are not provided. UPC and ISRC codes can be encoded in final, master CDs; clients planning commercial distribution should, if desired, obtain UPC and ISRC codes prior to completion of audio mastering services. Free, No Risk, No Money Trial

All projects are entitled to a free, no risk, no money trial: no payment is required to submit your audio and hear the first mastered (and watermarked) version. Full payment is required to get revisions and a final, uncompressed, non-watermarked version.

+

Audio Watermarking

So that preview releases are not distributed before final approval and payment, audio files posted for client review are watermarked with occasional segments of white noise inserted over the audio material.

Pricing

+

Affordable, Flexible Pricing

Standard audio mastering services are charged a base-price of $50 USD (Euro, GB Pounds, Yen) per audio file (song, piece, recording). This price includes all set-up, media costs, high-quality MP3 production, and a single round of revision. Additional costs may be added for express and/or international mail delivery. Additional rounds of revision (after the first) incur a cost equal to fifty percent (50%) of the base-price.

For larger projects and complete albums, bulk discounts are available, and all prices are negotiable. Base-price payment is due after the first posted version and before the first revision is completed. Payment for additional revisions is due upon completion of the project. All copyrights are retained by the source material authors. Posted review materials will not be distributed publicly and will include an audio watermark until complete payment is received and confirmed. Payment can be made by check (from US banks only) or credit card via PayPal.
